You’re going to love this Crispy Beer Battered Fish n chips recipe. One batter, 2 dishes!
The beer’s carbonation makes the batter super light and airy. However, it still has a great crunch. You’ll physically hear it when you bite into these. If the beer is scaring you, no worries – the taste gets cooked out when frying.
Squeeze lemon on top of the fish for the perfect finishing touch.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, spices, baking powder, baking soda and beer. Mix together until a pancake-like batter has formed.

Heat 2 inches of oil in a large pot. Toss fries into the batter until completely covered. Let the excess batter drip down and drop it into the hot oil in small batches. If they stick together, use tongs to gently separate them. Fry for 5-7 minutes until they are deep golden brown. Place on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley flakes.

3) Repeat for the fish. Dip the cut tuna steaks in the batter, fry for 5-7 minutes and drain on a paper towel. Sprinkle with salt and serve with lemon wedges.
